Sorrow Not

Today's Confession:

I choose to get my wisdom from the Lord for everything in my life.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Yesterday I walked outside just in time to see a man out in the woods falling down and being dragged by his big ol dog. I was like ....What am I seeing here? I yelled over to him to ask him if he was OK. He said "Kendal, I stepped in a hole and fell down, ....how embarrassing!" I said "Well, I am glad you are OK. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing!" Just about that time, a neighbor arrived home and I yelled to her about what happened (after all, the neighbor with his dog was in her woods)...and all us started laughing about it. We were just glad everything was OK.

Folks, that can be like the devil. We can be walking along in our daily lives and take a step and next thing we know, we have fallen in a hole or trap set by the devil. Perhaps it is our words that got us in the hole or our attitude or our thoughts...doesn't really matter what it is, but there we are ....laying on the ground and then what happens next....the devil , who hates us so much, grabs us and starts pulling us along on the ground and when he does that...it gets pretty hard to stop the whole thing and get back up on our feet. Can you see the visual I am trying to create for you? It really is hard to get back up when you have fallen but when you are being dragged along....well, that is a whole different story.

So that is why daily edification in the Word of God is so important to our lives.  Every bit of the Word that we put in to our lives produces good fruit for us.  But on the other side of that, every time we give in to the Devil and his thoughts, words, or actions.... that will produce death every time.  Keith Moore was talking about that on a CD I was listening too.  He said "we must remember that SIN PRODUCES DEATH EVERY SINGLE TIME!"  That sounds pretty serious doesn't it?  Well, it is.  I heard that the average American home has the televisions on all day long.  Now most of what is being watched is not showing God's way of doing things so if it is not God then it is not producing life.  That is why it is so good for us to continue to intentionally set out to feed ourselves with the Word of God. The Word produces the right things in our lives.

Today I would encourage you to read the Proverb for the day and start your day out right.
Proverbs 9:
It is worth everything to serve the Lord 100%!

Here is a prayer by Stormie Omartian
When I Need to Resist Temptation and Live God's Way

Lord, help me to always seek godly counsel.  When I need to seek a Christian counselor, show me whom that should be.  I love Your laws and Your ways, and I want to live according to Your instructions.  Help me to do that.  Enable me to make time to be in Your Word every day so that Your laws become part of the fabric of my heart and soul.  I want to receive the blessings You give to those who walk according to Your will.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.  Psalm 1:1-2
